HELP TO KEEP YOUR TOWN CLEAN AND TIDY!

Yate Town Council is carrying out a Spring Clean event on SATURDAY 9th APRIL 2011 at 10.00AM.

The Spring Clean will tackle 3 sites simultaneously – the areas between the Shopping Centre and Gleneagles, along the River Frome between Templar Road and Cranleigh Court Road and the hedgerows and shrub beds at Brinsham Park and Fields.  Local Friends Groups, Church Groups and residents will be volunteering at the various sites.

Everyone is welcome to come along and get involved and help to keep your town clean and tidy.  Please wear appropriate footwear - black bags and gloves will be provided.

This year's Kingsgate Park Easter Egg event is taking place on Easter Monday (25th April) at 10.00am.  Everyone is welcome.  Please have a look at the 2011 Easter Egg Event Poster for further details.

May we respectfully ask that all those driving to the event, park their cars in Yate International Academy car park.  Thank you very much.

Former school children who made decorative tiles which have been on display in Yate for the past 20 years are invited to a public event at 12.00 noon on Saturday 12th March 2011.

Pupils at several local primary schools created tiles in the 1980's which were used to form a mural on the outside wall of the Tesco supermarket.

Demolition of the store is due to start on Monday 14th March and contractors are unsure that they will be able to remove the mural in one piece.

To ensure that the mural is recorded for the future, Tesco and the Town Council are encouraging those people who made tiles to have their photograph taken.

You may have noticed that the Elswick Park development (former Seastores site) is rapidly being built.

The Town Council has received some new street scene proposals for the Elswick Park site, which will front Kennedy Way.  We would like to know what you think.

Please have a look at the Elswick Park Kennedy Way Street Scene proposals and let us have your comments by Friday 25th March.
