Abbotswood Story Winners!
Winners of the Abbotswood Wildlife Adventure Story Writing Competition
Yate Town Council invited young people to enter a wildlife imaginary adventure story competition, from the safety of their own homes, to celebrate the completion of the new Abbotswood play area. The play area includes a giant bespoke wooden ant, spider’s web, tepee hut and bug hotel; the inspiration for the children’s stories.
Congratulations to Chloe Pope aged 7, Wilfred Tebbutt, aged 6 and Mollie aged 6 who all entered delightful adventure stories about Abbotswood Wildlife. They have each received a £10 book voucher and a Wildlife Adventure Story Certificate.
Councillor John Ford, Chair of the Play Area and Properties Projects Steering Group commented:
‘We were very impressive with the high quality of the entries we received, congratulations to the winners’
Yate Town Council look forward to visitors and residents exploring the new play equipment and upgraded space at Abbotswood. Please continue to follow advice from the government regarding social distancing and follow Yate Town Council on social media for the latest updates on parks and play areas.
