Easter Egg Extravaganza – 1st April 2024

On Monday 1st April 2024 (Easter Monday) Yate Town Council, in conjunction with The Friends of Kingsgate Park, will be hosting the annual ‘Easter Egg Extravaganza’ in Kingsgate Park, kicking off at 9.30am with the opening of the play area, followed by the egg hunt at 10am, and the bonnet parade at 11am.

Entry is FREE and all children up to 12 years, alongside their families, are welcome to take part.

The treasure hunt will start at 10am and take place across the park, with a special area set aside for under 5’s to have their own fun.

At 11am the Easter Bonnet Parade will take place, where Yate Town Council’s Mayor, Councillor Cheryl Kirby, will be judging and picking their favourite, so make sure you register by 10:55am to be in with a chance to win.

Upon completion of the treasure hunt, a chocolate Easter egg is presented (subject to availability) to each child taking part. Please be aware there are a limited number of prizes available including ‘free from’ eggs.

Yate Town Council would like to thank local businesses and organisations who have sponsored this event.

In addition to this year’s Egg Extravaganza, Yate Town Council invite you to join us in the official opening of the new play equipment in Kingsgate Park, where the winner of ‘The name the duck’ competition will be announced at 9:30am.

Mayor of Yate, Councillor Cheryl Kirby, said:

“The Easter Egg Extravaganza brings joy to Kingsgate Park whether it be bright sunshine or pouring with rain.

Hearing the laughter of children as they complete the Egg Hunt is wonderful. Judging the bonnet competition is my hardest job as we always have so many great entries.

This year’s event will be made even more memorable as we officially reopen the play park and give the duck its name.”
