Update June 2010
The contactors for the Yate Youth Venue & Café have now been chosen and work is due to start work on site at the end of June 2010. The building is scheduled to open in April 2011.
With work on site imminent, much time and thought has been given to ensuring that the impact on the local community is carefully managed to avoid any unnecessary upset or confusion.
The chosen contractor, has a great deal of experience of working on building sites in busy town centre locations and has demonstrated clear plans for keeping any disruption to a minimum, the key to which is communicating with the local community all the way through the building process.
The Project Board has also deliberated over the impact of the building process on the immediate environment. There are a number of mature trees on the site which are to be protected, and, as part of the interview process the contractor had to set out exactly how they would do this. Again, the chosen contractor was able to demonstrate a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in this area, which satisfied the Project Board’s concerns.
When work begins on site, the contractors will contact local residents directly with up to date information and contact details. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns please contact us.
