There are many play areas in Yate which are run by the Town Council and that you can view on our interactive map. Why not visit your local play area, or plan a visit to a play area that you haven't been to?

Yate Town Council continues to give children’s play areas a high priority and in recent years has increased the number of facilities within Yate.

Yate's Play Areas

  • Kingsgate Park
    The Kingsgate Park Play area has been upgraded and houses state of the art equipment for children up to 12 years of age.
  • Witches Hat Play Area
    In early 2004, the Witches Hat Play Area on Westerleigh Road was refurbished with new equipment, and access routes were improved. Some of the equipment caters for wheelchair users. In addition, a kickabout/basketball area is located adjacent to the play equipment.
  • St Mary's Play Area
    In light of the success of the Witches Hat Play Area refurbishment, Yate Town Council undertook a project in 2005 to revamp and enhance the St Mary’s Play Area.
  • Millside Playzone
    In 2006, we enhanced Millside Playzone. Following consultation with the users of the Playzone, we installed some new spikas (twirly sticks), a football goal and an aerial runway.

All Yate Town Council play areas are revamped and enhanced on a rolling programme.

Yate Town Council has regular independent safety surveys of all play equipment, in order to maintain a high standard of service provision.
