Tylers Field, Yate
When developers wished to build on this part of Yate, the Town Council fought to save part of the site and transformed it into a community woodland. This woodland won first prize in 2001 for the best community environmental project in South Gloucestershire.
Local residents, schools and Avon Wildlife Trust assisted the Town Council during the planting of the woodland. This area of open space offers spectacular views; the two Severn crossings can be clearly seen.
