Brinsham Fields, Yate
This large area of open space is set amongst a housing development in the northern area of the town. Brinsham Fields provides a valuable community and wildlife asset for the local area.
A major attraction is the lake. As well as being a popular local fishing site, the abundance of naturally occurring stock in the lake has continued to attract a breeding pair of swans for several years now.
The surrounding vegetation also provides valuable nesting habitat for Coots, Moorhens and Ducks. The park itself offers local residents the opportunity to enjoy a stroll, use the children’s play area and socialise.
Brinsham Fields are the responsibility of South Gloucestershire Council. For more information, call 01454 868686.
Friends Group
Local residents have formed a Friends Group for the Park and Lake. The Group works with South Gloucestershire Council and Yate Town Council to identify improvements to the Park and produce a long-term management plan.
