Yate & District Bowling Club

Yate & District Bowling Club, established in 1981, is situated at Sunnyside Playing Fields, Moorland Road in Yate. Sunnyside Playing Fields and the Sports Pavilion are facilities owned and provided by Yate Town Council.

When does the bowling season begin?

The playing season duration is from April to October, but the club building is open all year round and an extensive programme of social events takes place during the winter months.

What happens throughout the year?

A full programme of fixtures takes place during the season which includes regular weekend friendly matches and participation in the Bristol & District and Cotswold Bowls League. The Ladies section participates in two divisions of the Bristol Ladies Bowls League. Other activities such as fun days for charity are also organised on some weekends throughout the summer.

How do I join?

The club welcomes new members, beginners or experienced bowlers. (Instruction can be arranged for beginners). If you are interested, please contact George Mawhood on 01454 882908.

Clubhouse available for hire

The clubhouse, which has a large function room, kitchen and toilets, is available for hire for social functions, parties or business meetings throughout the year. During the playing season it is available on weekdays only. For further information visit the Hire a Venue page

The club currently enjoys sponsorship from several local companies. In return these companies advertise at the bowling green or in the clubhouse.
