Joint Parishes Cycleway Commitee

The Joint Parishes Cycleway Committee works with South Gloucestershire Council to improve both leisure and highway facilities for cyclists within the local area.  The group is comprised of representatives from Yate Town Council and Dodington, Iron Acton, Pucklechurch, Siston, Sodbury, Westerleigh and Wickwar Parish and Town Councils and also representatives from the Cyclists Touring Club and South Gloucestershire Council.

Local Cycling Leaflets

A recent project undertaken by the Committee was the production of an updated map and leaflet titled "Cycling Around Yate."  Copies of this leaflet are freely available from our Guides to Cycling around Yate section, local cycle shops, South Gloucestershire Council, the Tourist Information Centre and Yate Town Council Offices.

Another leaflet jointly produced and available from the same locations is "Time Travel."  This leaflet contains information on two 20 mile circular rides centred around Yate.  It invites the cyclist to pedal back in time through the historic countryside of the Frome Vale.
